Contractor Leasing/Hiring Standards


  • Minimum Age 23
  • Minimum Experience, 2 years verifiable experience CLASS A semi driving
  • Any driver with a conviction within the last 10 years for the following violations in any type vehicle is not eligible to operate equipment for Seagate Transportation
      • Driving while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs and/or test refusal
      • Reckless driving
      • Hit and run
      • Leaving the scene of an accident
      • Failure to report an accident
      • Passing a school bus
      • Any other felony (No drug or alcohol convictions)
  • No more than four (4) moving violations in the past 36 months, and no more than two (2) moving violations in the previous 12 months.
  • No preventable accidents involving a fatality, bodily injuries treated away from the scene or disabling damage to a motor vehicle within three (3) years.
  • No convictions for a “serious or disqualifying traffic violation” within the last three (3) years
    • A “serious or disqualifying traffic violation” includes the following:
      • Excessive speeding, involving any single offense for any speed of 21 m.p.h. or more above the posted speed limit
      • Improper or erratic lane changes
      • Following the vehicle ahead too closely
  • CDL issued by the state which the driver resides and works from
  • Stable work history, not changing jobs every couple of months
  • Reliable work ethic
  • If necessary, must agree to cooperate with any investigation regarding loss or damaged equipment while employed to Seagate Transportation. Includes Polygraph Test
